 The Reverse Color Organ, or RCO, is an invention I am developing in collaboration with composers and sound designers. Utilizing Max/MSP and Jitter interactive software programs viewers scan my paintings with an iSight web camera, which triggers corresponding sonic equivalents composed by Konrad Kaczmarek to colors and surfaces in the paintings. The world of abstraction opens up for the viewers and they gain a better understanding of the potential sounds of my paintings. |
