 A part of a series of projects under the umbrella called Studio/Lab, MenuPlayer is a color organ that enables viewers to select from a menu of musical and sonic loops and indicate which color or colors best relates to that musical piece or sound. Their sonic selections are automatically filed, enabling me to gather data to see if a consensus emerges. I plan to expand this idea to incorporate a palette of textures as well. Overall, I believe that a new vocabulary can be created that aptly describes synaesthetic connections between color and sounds. This project was created using Max/MSP in collaboration with composer/sound designer Konrad Kaczmarek. |
